Working with Rebecca has brought me confidence

Melissa had been struggling to leave the house due to agoraphobia and paranoia, until she was referred to Twining, and met Rebecca, her dedicated Employment Specialist.  Rebecca helped Melissa with her mental health and employment related needs, and she has now secured a new job as a Teaching Assistant!  Here she tells us more about her inspirational story…

When I first spoke to Rebecca, I could not even leave my house because I was suffering from agoraphobia and paranoia. She was very patient and kind.  Rebecca talked me through skills to overcome my fears.

Once we finally met, I noticed what a gem of a person she is, her words of encouragement in helping with the mental health and work-related issues was vital to my recovery.

We met regularly and I looked forward to the meeting. She gave me practical strategies, worked on my CV and gave me the name of teaching agencies which were all invaluable.

Over time, I have bonded well with Rebecca and feel amazingly comfortable to share information and my experiences. Through following her guidance, I managed to secure a position as a Teacher Assistant in a local school. Working with her has brought me confidence, and the resilience to tackle my issues head on.
